A new board was elected by the membership of Design Business Ireland on 8th May 2010. Marie McGrath, from Huguenot, Mark Sheils, from Form and James Nelson from Drawing Inc (members of the 2009 board) were re-elected. They are joined by John Moore, Clickworks and Garrett Stokes who has been elected to the position of Chairperson.

Design Business Ireland is the National body responsible for promoting the effectiveness and value of design to the Business Community, Government and the Design Community itself through advocacy, education and debate.

Outgoing Chairperson Nicholas Cloake launched the DBI Design Sector Survey Spring 2010

“The recent survey that was carried out by Design Business Ireland clearly illustrates the current position of the design sector. With the exception of the ‘cautiously optimistic’ the survey cannot be deemed to be overly positive. It is also important to note that the survey was open to design companies and individuals who are not members of DBI. As a consequence the survey provides a wider depiction of sentiment within the sector.
